Don’t Panic, Omission Of Candidates Name On INEC List Is Blessing In Disguise – Akinlade Tells PDP Members

ABEOKUTA – A stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. AbdulKabir Adekunle Akinlade has described the omission of all the PDP candidates from the published INEC list as a blessing in disguise.

Akinlade noted that the rejuvenation, determination, and comradeship being displayed by members of the party across the state is a welcome development.

He further stated that since joining the PDP from APC, one of his greatest challenges has been finding a common drive to propel everyone, regardless of interest; to work for the success of the party.

Akinlade in a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Tuesday by his Media Assistant, Azeez Adelani said the judgments and exclusion did just that and more has given him more opportunity to find common ground to work to unify all aggrieved members of the party.

Akinlade who contested the gubernatorial seat in 2019 under the APM and challenged the outcome of the election up to the Supreme Court noted that pre-election matters are dynamic especially under the present 2022 Electoral Act as amended.

He said that the PDP candidates were not disqualified nor substituted, but merely asked to reconduct the primaries.

He also noted that the PDP at the National level has since decided to appeal the ruling by filing notices of Appeal and stay of Execution simultaneously.

He, therefore, urged members of PDP in the state not to panic or entertain any fear as the party will bounce back stronger.
