2026 APC Congress: Lagos West Leaders Agree To Equal Sharing Of Executive Positions
LAGOS – In a crucial meeting of the apex leadership of Lagos West Senatorial District of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presided over by Prince Rabiu Oluwa, it was resolved that the forthcoming congresses of the party should be devoid of any rancour, hostility or violence.
The leadership rose from their recent meeting held at the official residence of the Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker and agreed that the forthcoming congresses should be peaceful and should strengthen the cohesion of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The major resolution of the meeting dwelt on the equal sharing of party positions between the main political tendencies within the party, to ensure that all hands are on deck for a united political base of the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The leaders further warned that there should be no division among party members while a sense of belonging and peaceful atmosphere should be created across all local government areas.
This, they say, would further build trust among members, restore hopes and forge winning mentality for a rewarding political participation.
Those in attendance at the meeting included Cardinal James Odunmbaku, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, Otunba Henry Ajomale, Dr. Abayomi Finnih, Chief Muraina Taiwo, representative of House of Representative Members – Hon. Yemi Alli, representative of Assembly members – Hon. Nureni Akinsanya, representative of council chairmen from the district – Hon. Bayo Olasoju and the Senatorial Secretary – Prince Salvador-Adebayo.
The national secretariat of the party has formally announced the schedules of the party congresses through releases issued by the National Secretary – Senator Ajibola Basiru, with ward and LGA congresses fixed for February 18 and 20 respectively.
This will be followed by the state congress and climaxed with the National Convention in March, 2026.
