2027: We’re Not Under Control Of Ladi Adebutu Or Any Individual – Ogun PDP

ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed speculation that the party is under the control of its financier, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu.
The Encounter News exclusively gathered this on Thursday during State Executive Committee meeting headed by the party chairman, Hon. Abayomi Tella held at the party Secretariat
Hon. Tella explained that the narrative suggesting that the party is under the control of any individual is completely untrue.
According to him, the party is driven by collective leadership and the will of its members, and not by personal influence as every members of the party are contributors to its growth and development.
The PDP Chairman reassured party members across the state of its readiness to mobilize and unite members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said every qualified and committed member of the party is welcome to aspire to any office within the party, saying no ticket has been allocated as a personal entitlement.
“As preparations intensify toward the 2027 general elections, I wish to clearly reassure party members across the state and the good people of Ogun State that the Ogun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is fully mobilised, united, and ready to contest and win the coming elections.
“Under my leadership, the party is focused on reclaiming power and restoring responsible governance in our state. The PDP remains firmly committed to the principles of internal democracy, fairness, and transparency.
“Every aspirant at all levels is assured of a level playing field. Our primaries will be open, credible, and strictly guided by the provisions of our party’s constitution.
“No position is reserved for anyone. All members are equal in the party, and aspirants are encouraged to consult widely with stakeholders within their constituencies as part of the democratic process.
“Our leaders across the state are enjoined to put the people of Ogun state first and not monetary consideration alone in selection of candidates as mannerless individuals should not become our candidates for the 2027 elections.
“I must also address, unequivocally, the false narratives suggesting that the Ogun PDP is under the control of any individual. This claim is completely untrue. Our party is driven by collective leadership and the will of its members, not by personal influence as every members of the party are contributors to its growth and development.
“Every qualified and committed member is welcome to aspire to any office within the party. No ticket has been allocated as a personal entitlement. The State Working Committee will continue to guarantee fairness and transparency throughout the primary election process.
“Furthermore, the Ogun PDP will not tolerate indiscipline in any form. Any member found acting contrary to the party’s constitution or undermining its unity will face appropriate disciplinary action.”
