8th NYG: Ogun Sets New National Record In Shooting, As Atinuke Scores 502.1 Points in Individual Rifle Shot

ASABA – Ogun State has continued to trail the blaze by setting new national records in shooting sport as Team Ogun’s Onabiyi Atinuke became the first ever young to record the highest score by any youth in Nigeria in female rifle individual scoring 502.1 point in a single shot.

Atinuke surpasses Akwa Ibom’s Etuk Effiong’s 486 point in 2022 National Youth Games record in the female rifle event.

Recall that, Atinuke was part of the Rivers-Female-Rifle team that won Team Bronze last National Sport Festival in Delta State, 2022.

This new record has put Team Ogun in the finals of two games decided, female rifle and male pistol.

Meanwhile, all Team Ogun finalists are eligible to win any of the medal.

The two finals will be played on Sunday at the shooting range of Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta state.
