LG Polls: OGSIEC Officials, Security Agents Missing At Polling Units In Ilaro

ABEOKUTA– The scheduled local government election in Ogun state has so far witnessed low turn out of voters, late arrival of electoral officers, materials and electorates.

When THE ENCOUNTER NEWS Joga-orile park polling unit at 8:35am, no presence of electoral officers and security agents, leaving few voters stranded at the polling unit.

At Ibese, U.A.M.C, ward 11, there are presence of scanty electorate with no OGSIEC officials and security personnel in sight.

Other polling units visited by our reporters include, State Hospital, ELEJA/Oke-Ola, Poly gate, Egbo Alaparun, U.A.M.C school, Pahayi, Ita Iyalode, Orita kajola, Library/Rural health center at 10:20am, no indication of election at these polling units as there were no election officers nor electoral materials.

Recall that the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) chairman, Barr. Babatunde Osibodu had announced that the scheduled poll is to start between the hours of 8am to 2pm.

But in some major parts of Yewa south, as the time of filing this report, there was free vehicular movement while many residents plying their businesses.
