NNPP Sues For Peace In Osun

OSOGBO – The South West zone of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has called on political gladiators in the state to sheathe their swords and wear the garment of peaceful resolution.

NNPP in a statement issued at the weekend by its South West Vice Chairman and Secretary, respectively, Mr. Wale Alabi and Victor Olalekan Adeoye said the call for peace became imperative following the political struggle for the control of local government administration by both APC and PDP.

The party appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Minister of Trade and Investment, Gboyega Oyetola, to ensure they restored peace to Osun state by cautioning their followers and party members to allow the peaceful enforcement of pronouncement.

The party further cautioned the judiciary to desist from delivering ambiguous judgments that can be twisted to support the selfish interpretation of political rivals.

“While NNPP as a leading opposition party is not interested in the political shenanigans of both the PDP and the APC, we are however appealing to the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke and the Minister and former Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola to make sure that they restore peace back to Osun State by cautioning their followers and party members to be patience enough to allow the peaceful enforcement of judicial pronouncements at the apex Court.

“The New Nigeria People’s Party made it clear that wanton waste of precious lives and properties brings to remembrance the horrific scenario of the 1965/66 wild wild west that must not be allowed to recur.

“The leadership of NNPP in the Southwest without any doubt and a wide knowledge in the public domain that the two political parties flaming the embers of this crisis in Osun State shared the same political umbilical cord, and so the two siamese twins (APC & PDP) are hereby advised to go back to their origin and agree at bringing a lasting peace to Osun State.

“New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP recognized that the only way we all can enjoy a level playing ground in the polls come 2026 is by restoring peace back to Osun’s political atmosphere. No meaningful election could be held in a crisis.

“Southwest NNPP hereby call on all opinion Leaders in the State, the former political leaders, former Governors, Excellencies Chief Adebisi Akande, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola including former heads of the Legislative arm, Royal Fathers, religious leaders and many others to derobe themselves of prides of their political convictions and employ their valuable experiences at wading into the crisis to bring normalcy to the State of the living spring.

“New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP also calls on the judiciary to henceforth desist from delivering ambiguous judgments that can be twisted to support selfish interpretations of political rivals.

“New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP therefore call on the NJC and the NBA to please use their respective authorities at ensuring that any further ambiguous judgements from any judge be investigated and dealt with appropriately.”
