Friends, Political Associates Turn Senator Adeola Yayi’s Birthday Party To Carnival In Ilaro, Abeokuta, Ijebu

ABEOKUTA – In a show of solidarity, friends and political associates of the Senator representing Ogun West, Adeola Solomon Olamilekan, otherwise known as Yayi, organised a carnival-like birthday party to celebrate one of their own.

Political associates drawn from across the five local government areas of Ogun West thronged out enmass in a parade, displaying their banners, gift items, and singing solidarity songs.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the Asade Agunloye pavilion on Sunday, the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s 56th birthday Celebration, Hon. Jamiu Jagunmolu said the gathering was a fellowship of respect and living proof of the worth of a life anchored on service and the purpose of Senator Yayi.

According to Jagunmolu, the Senator remains the political Moses and leader who has rewritten the history of Ogun West and reworked the socioeconomic landscape of the region.

He noted that the Senator has brought unprecedented development, consistently extending infrastructural support to other Senatorial Districts.

He said, “This afternoon, we are not merely marking the adding of another year in the life of our revered senator, leader, brother, and friend, we are convening a gathering of hearts, a fellowship of respect, and living proof of the worth of a life anchored on service and purpose.

“Indeed, seeing you all seated – elders, leaders, friends, and well-wishers – from every walk of life is a powerful reminder that true leadership draws people together: across generations, across callings, and across boundaries, united by respect, gratitude, and the shared joy of celebrating a life that has given so much to so many, far beyond the borders of our Senatorial District.

“And who is the man at the heart of this celebration? He is recognised across Nigeria as Senator Aremo (Dr.) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, CON, FCA, the Distinguished Senator representing Ogun West and the highly regarded Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations.

“To us in Ogun West, he is our own Moses, the leader who has re-written the history of our land and reworked our socioeconomic landscape. Through the length and breadth of Yewa-Awori, he has brought unprecedented development, consistently extending infrastructural support to our brothers in other Senatorial Districts. He has pursued it all with the single-minded vision of giving our people the quality of life they truly deserve. For this, he does not merely deserve our applause; he is worthy of being celebrated and honoured.

“From the dawn of his public service journey, our distinguished Senator has carried Ogun West in his heart as a sacred trust, in firm support of the ISEYA Mantra of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration. His voice in the National Assembly has been firm, yet deeply informed by the realities of those he serves. Over the years, his work has brought projects that have transformed landscapes, policies that have improved livelihoods, and representation that commands respect across generations.

“He has been both a bridge connecting our rural communities to increasing national opportunities and ensuring that the interests of our people are never overlooked. Yet, beyond the speeches, budgets, and projects lies the human touch, a man who remembers names and faces, listens as though nothing else matters, and responds not from duty but from genuine care. Speaking at the well-attended birthday party, the Minister Of Health for State, Dr. Iziaq Salako said the gathering was to celebrate a man whose leadership strides and landmark achievements have continued to inspire many.

Salako maintained that the dedication of the celebrant to the service of his people particularly with the provision and distribution of transformers was a clear demonstration of his commitment to grassroots development.

“It gives me great joy to join you all here in Ilaro to celebrate a distinguished leader, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Yayi. Senator Yayi is a man whose leadership strides and landmark achievements continue to inspire many. His dedication to the service of his people is evident in the many projects he has facilitated, including the recent provision of transformers to energize communities across this region. This is a clear demonstration of his commitment to grassroots development.

“As we celebrate him today, I want to emphasize the need for us to stand firmly on the mandate of our dear President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and that of Senator Adeola Yayi. Together, we can advance the cause of development for our people.

“I also wish to appreciate our Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, the leader of the APC in Ogun State, for providing the enabling environment that allows Senator Yayi to deliver on his promises. His support and leadership remain invaluable in our collective drive for progress.

Similarly, Senator Adeola Yayi’s friends in Ogun Central and Ogun East also organized a birthday party to solidify his growing popularity across the three senatorial districts of the state.

Meanwhile, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi has donated 102 transformers fully energized for 435 Community Development Areas (CDAs) across the three senatorial districts of Ogun state.

The transformers of different specifications according to requirement of each benefitting localities includes 500kva/33, 500kva/11, 300kva/33 and 300kva/11 were presented to representatives of communities on the side of the celebration of Senator Adeola’s 56th birthday at Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro in Yewa South LGA.

A total of 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Ogun State benefitted from this scheme of “Light Up Ogun State” namely; Yewa North, Ado Odo Ota, Yewa South, Abeokuta North, Ifo, Obafemi Owode, Ewekoro, and Sagamu. Others are Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu, Ipokia, Ijebu North East, Ikenne, Ijebu East, Remo North, Abeokuta South and Ijebu North.

Explaining the motivation for the facilitation of these needed energy infrastructure, Senator Adeola who spoke through his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro stated that his office was inundated with many requests for transformers following his periodic donation of transformers to communities over the years adding that it is a thing of joy for him to bring light to various homes and businesses through the provision of transformers and their energization.

Related to the provision of transformers in the “Light Up Ogun State” is the provision and installation of solar power street lights along streets, markets, communities and palaces with over 16500 poles installed so far across Ogun West senatorial district and beyond.

“Let me state clearly that this facilitation is an ongoing process as there are still many more communities in darkness as a result of damage or inadequate energy infrastructure. I will continue to address these challenges that are already compiled in my office” he stated.
