Ogun FA Boss, Majekodunmi Condoles NFF, Kano FA Over Death of Ex-NFA Chairman, Galadima
ABEOKUTA — The Nigeria Football Federation and the Kano State Football Association have been thrown into mourning following the death of former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, Ibrahim Galadima, who passed away yesterday at the age of 78.
In a condolence message, the Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association and executive member of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ganiu Majekodunmi, described the late Galadima as a pillar of Nigerian football whose contributions to the development of the game remain indelible.
Majekodunmi said the death of Galadima is a huge loss not only to the football family in Kano State but to the entire nation, noting that the former NFA boss served the game with passion, integrity and uncommon dedication.
“On behalf of the Ogun State Football Association and myself, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Nigeria Football Federation, the Kano State Football Association, and the immediate family of Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima,” he said.
He added that Galadima’s tenure as chairman of the then Nigeria Football Association was marked by commitment to grassroots development and administrative excellence, which helped shape modern Nigerian football.
Majekodunmi further urged the football community to take solace in the impactful life the late administrator lived, while praying for Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The late Galadima was widely respected across the country for his leadership role in football administration and his enduring influence within the sport, particularly in northern Nigeria.
