Senator Yayi Poised To Build On Abiodun’s Achievements, Says APC Chieftain Adeniji
ABEOKUTA – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Convener of the Ogun West Initiative, Olootu Bolaji Adeniji has reiterated that Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, remains the right candidate to consolidate on Governor Dapo Abiodun’s achievements and unlock the full potentials of Ogun State.
The staunch advocate for Ogun West governorship emphasized that Senator Adeola’s emergence as the consensus gubernatorial candidate of the APC represents “a historic opportunity for balanced leadership and inclusive governance”.
Adeniji who spoke with newsmen in Abeokuta on Wednesday submitted that the senator representing Ogun West senatorial district, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has been touted to build on the achievements of the current administration in Ogun State and fully harness its vast potentials.
Adeola penultimate week emerged the consensus gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, marking an end to speculations on who will carry the flag of the party among the dozen of aspirants who had indicated interest to succeed Dapo Abiodun in 2027.
He noted that Governor Abiodun has laid strong foundations in infrastructure, education, and industrial development, which Yayi is well-positioned to build upon.
According to him, “Governor Abiodun has done remarkably well in setting Ogun State on the path of sustainable growth, what we need now is a leader who can consolidate on these legacies and take the state to the next phase of her socioeconomic rebirth. Senator Adeola has the vision, competence, and political will to fully harness Ogun’s vast potentials,” Adeniji stated.
He further highlighted that Ogun West, long marginalized in the state’s political leadership, now has a chance to produce a governor who understands the aspirations of the people and is committed to equitable development across all zones.
Adeniji emphasized that Ogun West’s long-standing quest for governorship is finally within reach, and YAYI’s candidacy represents a historic opportunity for balanced leadership.
He stressed, “Our consensus candidate’s financial expertise, enormous legislative experience, and pedigree in providing people-focused infrastructure, social services and empowerment of the masses, has placed him at a vantage position to help Ogun State fully harness its industrial and economic potentials”.
While expressing confidence in the ability of YAYI to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, he urged party members and the electorate to rally behind YAYI saying his candidacy symbolizes unity, continuity, and progress.
“We are confident that the next administration under YAYI would prioritize infrastructural growth, industrial expansion, youth empowerment, and rural development, thereby positioning Ogun State as a leading economic hub in Nigeria and the West Africa sub-region,” Adeniji said.
