ABEOKUTA – In anticipation of his campaign flag-off today, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu on Tuesday handed over campaign vehicles and materials to party leaders across the 20 local government areas of the state.
At the official handing over of the campaign materials held at the premises of Sir Kensington Adebutu Marble House, Iperu-Remo, Ikenne local government area of the state, Adebutu said the development was to make statement of support and commitment and urge the people to deliver the forthcoming election in their constituency for the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).
He thanked all party faithful advising them not to relent until the mission to Rescue Ogun State is achieved.
The PDP governorship candidate noted that his administration would add value to the socio-economic standard of the State, urging members of the party to move out en masse and mobilize more voters for the party during elections.
He stressed further that PDP remains the only political party in Ogun State with total structure in every polling units of the state.
Elated Adebutu explained that, the party has established exco in the 236 wards of the state with over 30,000 canvassers who will transverse the length and breadth of the state.
He said, “some people in their warped imagination, profess that the PDP was no opposition and no opposition parties in Ogun. But I want to tell them that, PDP is only party with total structure in every Polling Unit of the state. We have a viable exco in the over 5000 PUs. We have over 30,000 canvassers that will work like Jehovah Witness for us.
“It is time for the people of Ogun State to join us on this rescue mission. We want to save our people from this uncaring govt. In the last few days, this government have gone borrowing quietly. To what purpose are these gargantuan loans were borrowed?”
He, however, assured the people of the state that the Dapo Abiodun APC led administration would be held accountable for every penny spent in the last four years.
“Let me assure you, account must be given for every expenses in the last 4years. It is our lots as leaders to work hard and unearth this decadence and free ourself from this toga. Can no longer allow a state where Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief MKO Abiola come from to be run by indicted fraudsters.
“Ogun state deserve better. We will offer you the opportunity to be ruled by great men again like Awolowo. We beg you to join us in this noble cause, we implore you, be our volunteers, canvassers for us and perform your civic duty. Free yourself of the toga where your taxes and money accrued to Ogun state disappeared without trace.”
