Count Me Out Of Gov. Abiodun Second Term Endorsement Arrangement – PRP Guber Candidate
ABEOKUTA – The governorship candidate of People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Ogun State, Cyrus Oluwaseun Johnson has distanced himself from the purported endorsement of Governor Dapo Abiodun by members of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).
Cyrus explained that, he only accompanied his party chairman, Engr. Samson Okusanya who doubled as the IPAC in the state to a meeting at the instance of the Secretary to the Ogun State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi on Tuesday.
He stressed further that, it was at the meeting the issue of endorsement came up.
According to him, the PRP chairman never mentioned PRP nor its governorship candidate endorsing the governor in his statement.
He, therefore, called on members of the public and party members to disregard the purported endorsement.
“This is to bring to the notice of the general public that the purported meeting was for the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Ogun State Chapter of which its State Chairman (Engr. Samson Okusanya) happens to be the Ogun State PRP Chairman as well.
“I was in a meeting with my party Chairman in person of Engr. Samson Okusanya when he was called for IPAC meeting with the Secretary to the State Government of Ogun State (Mr. Tokunbo Talabi) and told me to join him as an Observer at the meeting. Unexpectedly to me, the endorsement issue came up.
“However, in the State IPAC Chairman statement, there is no where he mentioned PRP or its Governorship Candidate being part of the said Endorsement.
“My presence at the meeting was a mistake and I accept my fault. This is to reassure our party faithful and the General Public that I have not in any form endorsed Prince Dapo Abiodun for a second term in office.”
