APC Youth Leader Praises Tinubu’s ‘Youth-Inclusive’ Governance, Pushes For Re-Election

ABEOKUTA – The National Youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Dayo Israel has described the administration of President Bola Tinubu has said no Nigerian government has given youth leadership positions than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Israel said the President’s commitment to youth inclusion, economic reforms and policies are already stabilising the nation’s economy.

He stated this on Monday during a visit to Keesi ward 4 in Abeokuta South and ward 11 at Abeokuta North Local government areas of Ogun State.

According to Israel, the visit was part of efforts to boost the party’s ongoing nationwide electronic membership registration exercise.

Israel pointed out that President Tinubu has done more for Nigerian youths than any other candidate on the political landscape, stressing that the APC-led federal government has consistently given young people a sense of belonging and a seat at the table of governance.

“There is nobody else on the ballot who has done as much for the youths as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

“Young people today are not just spectators. We have ministers, managing directors of agencies and parastatals who are youths. I am a product of that inclusion, having been supported to emerge as the National Youth Leader of the ruling party.”

He further explained that the APC’s e-registration exercise has already recorded over seven million new members across the country, noting that the data-driven process has helped the party understand its growing youth base and identify areas that need more engagement.

“We know there is still a lot to do, especially in mobilising more young people. That is why we are going around to sensitise them on the importance of being part of the political process. It is not enough to complain from the sidelines; you must be at the table where decisions are made,” he added.

He also emphasised that the visit was part of a broader mobilisation tour across Ogun State, following similar engagements in Ogun West and ahead of planned visits to Sagamu and other parts of Ogun East.

Israel also acknowledged that some of President Tinubu’s reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidy and deregulation of the foreign exchange and petroleum sectors, were initially painful but necessary.

“The removal of fuel subsidy was a tough start, but it is beginning to balance out. We are seeing more stability now, with prices becoming less volatile and competition emerging among players, including local refiners and importers,” he said.

He compared the reforms to the early days of the telecommunications revolution in Nigeria, when SIM cards were expensive before competition eventually made them affordable.

“That is how reforms work. It starts tough, but with time it stabilises and benefits the people,” he said.

He further expressed confidence that with a second term, President Tinubu would consolidate on existing policies and do even more for young Nigerians, urging youths to support the APC and actively participate in the ongoing registration exercise.

Earlier speaking, Senior Special Assistant on Health to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Dr Kehinde Ololade disclosed that in Abeokuta South, Ward 4 Keesi, has achieved a remarkable 70-80% registration rate, attributing the success to the support of the national youth leader and the party’s mobilisation efforts.

He described the visit by the national youth leader as a direct aimed at encouraging party registration and acknowledge the ward’s progress.

“Today is a very special day to us because the national youth leader has counted us worthy to identify with us,” Olalade said.

“The ward has been recognised as one of the foremost in Abeokuta South, providing directives to the movement, he credited the success to the efforts of party members, including market women, and others.

Ololade urged more young people to participate in the registration process, emphasising the importance of being part of the political process.

“We are going around, encouraging people to get documented and be part of our political activities,” he said.
