Don’t Be Used As Political Thugs, ACOMORAN Cautions Members

ABEOKUTA – Members of Amalgamation of Commercial Motorcycles Riders, Owners, Repairers Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun state chapter have been admonished not to allow themselves to be used as thugs to disrupt the Saturday’s governorship election.

The Association insisted that its members must refrain from being used by politicians to create crisis in pursuit of their selfish interests.

Addressing journalists on Monday, the ACOMORAN Chairman in Ogun State, Kayode Amos Sowunmi gave the warning on Tuesday, at a press briefing in Abeokuta, while noting that the association remains non partisan, assured that it over 200, 000 members would vote massively for the governor and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the poll.

He stressed that the decision of the ACOMORAN to support governor Abiodun was motivated by the need for the continuity of current administration’s agenda of building the future of the state.

Sowunmi said “Ogun State has continue to witness different developmental achievements since it’s creation and we have always partner with relevant government agencies towards achieving their set goals and we want to use this medium to commend all our Past leaders who have contributed to the socio-economic development of the gateway state and in particular, the Present Government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun mfr.

“The present Government in our dear state has continue to justify the mandate given by the good people and can boast of different developmental achievements that cut across the 4 zones of the state since he came on board over 3 and half years ago and it has continue to justify the mandate and it is on this note that the Leadership of Acomoran in Ogun state deemed it fit to support and endorse such a pragmatic government by encouraging its members across the state to vote massively for the continuity of the Present Government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun on March 11 by voting for All Progressive Congress Candidate in their various polling booth on the Election Day.

“The endorsement was based on several projects which of economic importance executed by this government some of which is the creation of the full fledged ministry of transportation since our creation as a state, rehabilitation and construction of road across 20 local government in the state which has improved our business, Improved security, ensuring continuity, relating enable environment for private businesses to thrive and the most recently the launching of Agro Cargo airport just to mention a few.

“It is on the above that the association found it necessary and important to encourage its members to vote for the continuity of all this developmental achievements by voting for Prince Dapo Abiodun on March 11 in the forthcoming election and all the state assembly on the platform of APC to enable them finish the good works already started by the Present government.

Sowunmi, therefore, appealed to members to come out en-mass and vote massively for All Progressive Congress (APC ) in the forthcoming Gubernatorial election
