WAFCON Qualifier: Ogun Govt. Solicits Support For Super Falcons Clash Against Benin Republic

ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Government has called on residents of the state and football lovers across the country to troop out enmass as the African champions, the Super Falcons, return to Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, to host the Women’s National Team of Benin Republic in the final qualifying fixture for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Tuesday.

In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Sunday by the State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, the second leg encounter, will hold at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Kuto, Abeokuta.

Recall that the Super Falcons secured a 2-0 victory over their counterparts from Benin Republic on Friday, 24th October, in the first leg held in Lomé, Togo.

According to Isiaka, the state government has put in place safety mechanism for officals and spectators at the stadium.

Isiaka added that the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, will be at the stand to cheer the Falcons to victory.
