GNI Gives Yuletide Support For Constituents, Ogun Residents

ABEOKUTA – The Office of the Member representing Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI), has confirmed the successful conclusion of a constituency-wide yuletide support programme delivered across the federal constituency, parts of Ogun West, and select stakeholder groups within Ogun State.

The initiative, which was fully executed and concluded ahead of the Christmas holiday, combined food support with direct cash assistance aimed at easing seasonal pressures on households and community structures.

A total of 1,000 bags of rice were distributed across wards, party structures, traditional institutions, professional bodies, and organised community groups.

In addition, cash grants of ₦50,000 were disbursed to at least 750 constituents, ensuring broad-based, individual-level support alongside group allocations.

Under the structured distribution framework, each ward received five bags of rice and ₦200,000 in cash, reinforcing grassroots reach and local equity. Local government party executives were also allocated five bags of rice each, strengthening coordination at the local level.

The outreach extended to religious organisations, social and community-based groups, and traditional rulers, including the Council of Baales, reflecting deliberate engagement with both statutory and customary leadership structures within the constituency.

Youth inclusion formed a defined component of the programme, with 30 bags of rice distributed to youth groups across the constituency. Support was also extended to security agencies operating within the federal constituency, the Ogun State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and key political stakeholders.

According to the Media Office, the distribution process was carefully coordinated to ensure balance, fairness, and timely delivery, with all items and cash support disbursed before the peak of the festive period to enable beneficiaries make immediate use of the assistance.

In a message to constituents and stakeholders, the Chairman, House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, expressed appreciation for the continued support and cooperation of the people of Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency, while wishing families, communities, and stakeholders a Merry Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous 2026.
