Gov. Abiodun, Senator Yayi Commiserate Health Minister, Iziaq Salako Over Mother’s Death

ABEOKUTA – Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commiserated with the Minister of State for Health, Mr. Iziaq Salako, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Fadilat Anike Salako, at the age of 95 years.

Similarly, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West), the chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriations has expressed deep sadness at the demise of Alhaja Falilat Anike Salako.

Alhaja Salako, the mother of Dr. Isiaq Adekunle Salako, the Minister of State for Health passed on yesterday and was buried today according to Islamic rites.

Abiodun, who described the passing of the matriarch of the Salako family at a ripe old age as a testament to the grace of God in her exemplarily well lived life, said he recognized the fact that the death of one’s precious mother is always a painful event.

He, however, urged the minister to take consolation in the fact that the deceased left highly accomplished sons and daughters as well as grandchildren who will carry on her legacy for generations to come.

He added that the demise of Alhaja Fadilat Anike Salako while she was observing her fast in the holy month of Ramadan has deep spiritual significance, and is an indication that Almighty Allah has accepted her into His bosom.

In his condolence message, Senator Adeola stated that the loss of the beloved mother of the serving minister of state for health at this time is a sad loss not only to her immediate family but Ogun West and Ogun State.

Senator Adeola stated that Alhaja Salako was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother adding that she left a legacy worthy of emulation.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul in Aljanna Firdaus and the fortitude for her immediate family to bear the irreparable loss of a dearly beloved.

“It with great sadness that I recieved the news of the passage of one of my revered constituents, the mother of my close friend and ally, Dr. Salako. She was a noted community and religious leader who brought up her children and other wards with the fear of Allah and good education.” the senator stated.
