IGP Disburses N45million Beneficiary Funds To Departed Officers’ Families In Ogun

ABEOKUTA – As part of the efforts to improve on the welfare of his officers, the Inspector General of Police has disbursed over N45million naira beneficiary funds to 26 family members of Police officers in the Ogun state who lost their lives in the cause of duty.

The disbursement was done on Tuesday, at the Police headquarters, Eleweran in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Police Ogun State, CP Olarenwaju Yomi urged the beneficiaries to judiciously make use of the money for a good purpose.

Olarenwaju disclosed that the IGP in his continued effort to ensure that the family left behind by the deceased officers are not forgotten, has disbursed over N45million.

He added that the money was shared by categories among the 26 beneficiaries to enable them to cater for the family.

“For someone of you who knows one trade or another, please utilize this money judiciously, and for some of you who want to sponsor your academic career, please, make sure you come out with flying colours to become better in society”.

In her vote of thanks, Mrs Owie Blessing who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, appreciated the federal government for the kind gestures.

She also, commended the IGP for his transparency and socio-welfare programme.
