Naira Scarcity: Buhari Breaks Silence, Makes 1 Demand From Nigerians As He Meets APC Governors

Congress (APC) has met with President Muhammadu Buhari and urged him to allow the old and new naira notes to co-exist to ease the suffering of Nigerians. The Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, disclosed that the APC governors made the request during their meeting with the President on Friday, February.

President Buhari later took to his verified Twitter page and apologise to Nigerians for the difficulties being confronted on the new naira note policy.

However, Buhari expressed doubt about the commitment of banks to supporting the government’s monetary policy.

He asked Nigerians to give him 7 days to fix the challenges. The 7 days is part of the earlier 10 days extension that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor earlier
