Nigerian Youths Have Energy To Drive Economy – APCYL President

ABEOKUTA – The National President, APC Youth League, Comrade Olamide Lawal said it is important to invest in young people, stating that they have the energy and innovation to drive the country’s development agenda.

Lawal, a Special Assistant to the state Governor on Youth Development commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abiodun for prioritizing youth development and surrounding themselves with young people in their cabinets.

Lawal stated this on Tuesday at the inauguration ceremony of the APC Youth League, Ogun State chapter held at the June 12, Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.

He encouraged young people to live exemplary lives, acquire skills, and be mindful of their social media activities.

According to him, “It is very important that whatever investment that we do on young people will definitely reflect on our society. The youth are determined of how tomorrow will be and that is why every policy, any government, any CEO’s government, must center its policies around the young people, because they have the energy, they have the innovation to drive whatever agenda they have.

“We believe that the youth should continuously be prioritized by government, and we appreciate the president for doing so in the area of leadership, for ensuring that he surrounded himself with young people. She also said the governor of Ogun state for surrounding himself with a lot of young people in his cabinet, and it showed that it is definitely building a brighter future for young people.

“My fellow young people, I want to continually appreciate them. I implore them to, no matter where they find themselves, they must continuously live an exemplary life. A life that will impact their fellow young people.”

“I also want to add this that today we are further strengthening many young people, and we launch a project that is “Tinubu Loyalty Walk.” We, as a leading support group, we are ready to be at the forefront of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the second term,” he concluded.

In his submission, the National Youth Leader of the APC, Hon. Dayo Israel, while speaking as a guest speaker at the event, called on young Nigerians to take responsibility for building a better future for the country.

Hon. Israel, who is also the current Chairman, Board FMC Abeokuta hinted that Nigeria needs to enter a new phase of development.

He expressed gratitude to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and all the state governors for encouraging and providing opportunities for younger people to take on leadership roles.

Israel noted that rebuilding Nigeria requires a lot of work and that young people are now privileged to be in charge of many responsibilities.

His words “The country needs to enter a new phase. And one of the things that needs to be done, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done. And so we’re grateful to our president and all our governors for encouraging and giving more opportunities for younger people to come in.”

Also speaking, the state coordinator APC Youth Leader, Ogun State, Comrade Fayomi Yunus charged youths to be steadfastness, dedicated, and work along in the message of hope that President Tinubu has preached.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League has honored the State Governor, Prince Dapo abiodun, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, and other top officials for their contributions to youth development in the state.

Governor Abiodun was recognized as the Progressive Youth Patron in the state, while Senator Yayi, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, was also bestowed with the Progressive Youth Lead Patron.

The state Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele received a Trailblazer Award and Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Adijat Adeleye, also honored as the Matron.

Other recipients of awards included, Dr. Kunle Salako, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, Hon. Mrs Funmi Efuape, Chief Sesan Fagbayi, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, Hon. Babatunde Olaotan, Hon. Bolu Owotomo, Bukola Olopade, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, Ms. Rinsola Abiola, Personal Assistant to President Tinubu, Kamar Yusuf amongst others, as Progressive Youth Hero award, respectively.
