No Plan To Defect To APC, Says Makinde After Meeting Tinubu

IBADAN – Amid the wave of defections sweeping through the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, particularly among its governors, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, said he is comfortable in his party.

Makinde stated this after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.

Makinde while answering questions from State House correspondents, said he’s not planning to join the defection bandwagon.

He said, “I am comfortable in the PDP and again we may have issues in this country where you need a bipartisan approach, where it will not be like APC talking alone, PDP talking alone. Where we will need to look at what is the best foot forward in the interest of our Country. When we get to that junction, we need everybody on board.”

Aside from Makinde, President Tinubu also met with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Mutfwang, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, was the first to arrive at the Presidential Villa at about 3pm.
