NPFL: Club Owners Reject Abridged Format, Agrees To Run Full Season

ABUJA – The new season of the NPFL is set to kick off on August 26th With a Full Season format that will see 38 Match days played by all the twenty clubs.

This was confirmed at the end of the meeting between the NPFL board and the club owners in Abuja on Thursday.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, the chairman of the board Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye also confirmed that the draws for the 2023/24 season and the Annual General Meeting of the newly inaugurated board will be held on August 17th.

Present at the meeting were the NPFL board members and representatives of the club owners and other relevant stakeholders

The champions of the new season will get a prize money of N150,000,000 according to the league partner GTI/TNFF.
