NYG Delta 2024: Oyo Sports Commissioner, Wasilat Kicks Against Gov. Oborevwori’s Request For Age Extension

ASABA – Oyo State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke Adefemi has kicked against the extension of the age bracket for the NYG as requested by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State during the opening ceremony of the 8th edition of the NYG Delta 2024.

The Commissioner expressed her disposition while speaking with sports journalists at the St Patrick’s Football pitch shortly after her Team defeated Team Taraba by 2-1 goals on Friday.

“We call this thing Catch Them Young. I think this is the best way for us to catch them young, so, I don’t see any reason for extending the age,” Hon. Adegoke emphasized.

She appreciated Team Oyo for their determination and commitment at the ongoing NYG and encouraged them to continue to make the state proud not only in football but also in other sports.

Believing that her State will take the first position against the defending champions, which is the host, Delta State, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke described Oyo State as the pacesetter, saying that they will maintain the tempo.

She revealed that their teams have been performing wonderfully since the commencement of the event on Thursday, therefore, expressing confidence in them to become the first position.

The Commissioner commended the organizing Committee for a job well done by ensuring that every activity was going well.
