ABEOKUTA – The Chairman, Ogun APC Appeal Committee for the State Congresses, Mr. Philip Shaibu has insisted that he won’t entertain any petition regarding the APC ward congress held in Ogun State.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) on Wednesday conducted its ward congress across the 236 wards of the state.
The Encounter News reports that, there were crisis and parallel congress in some wards during the exercise.
Addressing journalists on Friday at the APC secretariat, Mr. Philip Shaibu described the conduct of the ward congress as peaceful.
He said nobody has protested against the outcome of the ward congress held in Ogun State.
He explained that, the deadline for submission of complaints against the ward congress was February 19, 2026, while the deadline for the local government Congress to be held on Saturday is February 22, 2026.
According to him, any petition submitted against the ward congress after the February 19 deadline would not be accepted and remain invalid.
“And for petitions to come, it must be written and submitted at the state secretariat. And all through, I’ve been here I didn’t receive any report or documents protesting what has happened.
“I’m told there are one or two skirmishes in about four wards and I was expecting petitions from those places and I did not receive any. I cannot work on rumour neither can I work on hearsay. For you to complain, you must put it into writing and there must be evidence.
“If there is no petition, it means that everything is fine. And there’s an ultimatum for ward Congress petition, which is February 19. Any petition today from the ward Congress, I cannot receive it, because if I receive any petition after the deadline is illegal. I’m not here to divide the party, I’m here to unite the party.”
