Ogun CDA Chairman Whereabout Unknown After Herdsmen Unleash Terror In Community
ABEOKUTA – Ashipa Ijeja Soyoye Community in Abeokuta of Ogun state was attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen on February 23 2022.
The suspected herders in large numbers reportedly invaded the community, and were shooting sporadically.
About 22 residents lost their lives, many were abducted and the herders reportedly set ablaze cars and houses in the community.
One of the escapees who does not want his name mentioned for security rea sons that they were in the forest for days and were moving from one place to another.

He said, he heard them speaking Kanuri language that their target is not among the abductees.
He explained that one of them asked for the community chairman.

He stressed further that, women and children were among those abducted.
However, he added that, five among the children abducted were murdered in the forest due to their vulnerability.

Addressing journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi vowed to intensify efforts to the arrest of the kidnappers.
Meanwhile, as of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the chairman of the community, Mr. Ajibola and family with some residents remain unknown.
But Police said they would continue to trail the kidnappers.
