Ogun Female Journalists Beat Women Lawyers 4-2 In Friendly Football Match
ABEOKUTA – It was a fun sighting moment on Thursday, as members of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Ogun state engaged the female lawyers under the auspices of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria in a friendly football match.
The thrilling football match was part of activities marking the 2022 Press Week of Ogun NAWOJ.
The encounter played at the 5-Aside pitch of the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, saw the women lawyers holding their counterparts in the pen profession to a stalemate at the end of the duration time.
The Ogun NAWOJ team emerged victorious through a penalty shootout, winning by 4-2 goals.
Speaking shortly after the match, the Special Adviser to the Ogun state Governor on Youths and Sports, Mr. Olamide Lawal called for more participation into sports.
Lawal said women should engage more in sporting activities to improve their physical ability and mental wellness.
