Easter Represents Hope Reawakened for Nigeria’s Future – Salisu

ABEOKUTA – As Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Nigerians have been urged to renew their hope for a greater nation.

The Senator-elect, Ogun Central Senatorial District, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu made this call on Sunday in his Easter message.

According to him, Easter celebrations represent the core of the Christian belief in the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Salisu noted that, the death of Jesus serve as an important lesson to Nigerians at this critical juncture of the nation’s democracy.

“As our Christian brethren celebrate the sacrifice and ultimate victory of Jesus Christ, we all are reminded that the great Nigeria we dream and talk about will only be achieved by our collective sacrifice.”

Salisu also spoke on the recent general elections and the various issues that emerged and called for amicable resolutions.

“No human system is perfect; and while there are corrections to be made, and healing to be achieved, we will have to ultimately sacrifice self-interest on the altar of the collective good and progress of the nation. This is the lesson of Easter.”
