Ogun People Cannot Be Deceived With Continuous Purchase Of Political Neophytes – PDP Tells Gov. Abiodun

ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted that luring political hypocrites with money from the opposition parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by Gov. Dapo Abiodun would not derail the people from voting PDP in 2027.

The party said Gov. Abiodun is desperately buying political hypocrites who betrayed their former parties to gain cheap political popularity as preparation for the 2027 general elections drawn near.

Rising from its well-attended meeting of the Ogun Central Senatorial District held on Friday at the party’s secretariat, the Deputy State Chairman of the party, Hon. Abiodun Ogunremi said it was a show of shame for Governor Abiodun to be celebrating those that once criticized his government and betrayed their party for a pot of soup.

Hon. Ogunremi declared that the ruling party’s popularity has dwindled considerably, signaling a shift in the political landscape of the state.

He emphasized that the PDP has established a strong presence and is firmly rooted across all 5,042 polling units in the state.

This extensive grassroots network, he argued, positions the PDP as a serious contender for power in the upcoming 2027 elections.

He criticized the policies implemented by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), characterizing them as “anti-people.”

According to Ogunremi, these detrimental policies have severely impacted the populace and contributed to the unpopularity of Governor Abiodun’s administration.

Also speaking, Hon. Dotun Keshinro, the chairman of the party in the Ogun Central Senatorial District, painted a grim picture of the current administration, likening the APC to a “sinking ship.”

He articulated that the hardships inflicted upon the citizens by the APC government are profound and pervasive, rendering them almost impossible to quantify.

“All of you can see that the APC is in serious dilemma. The party is losing its footing in the state, and the only way they think they can gain their lost popularity is to recruit and buy over our rotten political instruments.

“How can a party be so desperate and buy its popular critics just to be seen as popular. But no amount of deceit, fake association that derail the people of Ogun State from supporting the party with masses oriented programmes, which is PDP.

“We are happy that God has removed the shaft in our party. God has uprooted those troubling roots, causing division in our party and planted them in the midst of our adversaries.”

In his remarks, the PDP Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Olumide Aderinokun, expressed gratitude to the party leaders for their unwavering dedication and support.

He reassured that the PDP is committed to reclaiming control of the machinery of government by the year 2027.

Aderinokun echoed the sentiments of his colleagues, decrying the current APC administration as an “anti-people government” that has significantly failed to meet the needs and expectations of the masses.
