Ogun: Stop Harassing Us, We’re All Tinubu’s Political Sons, Adebutu Tells Abiodun

ABEOKUTA – The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu has insisted that despite political affiliations, the President, Bola Tinubu belongs to all Nigerians.

Adebutu stated this during the end-of-the-year party hosted for members of the PDP in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, weekend.

The statement, according to Adebutu is a response to Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun laying sole claim to the presidency.

Recall that Abiodun had opposed the candidacy of Tinubu, and was also accused to have deliberately withheld resources and logistical supports for the Presidential elections.

Speculations has however, been rife about Adebutu considering a switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC) upon reclaiming his mandate, with the purported intention of fortifying the support base for President Bola Tinubu in the South West.

Adebutu while addressing the mammoth party faithful, recounted how he left the country to save his life from death threats.

He cautioned the Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to stop intimidating opposition parties in the state with the presidency, saying President Tinubu belongs to all Nigerians.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu belongs to us all. Nobody can claim to the presidency, it belongs to all Nigerians. Stop harassing us, we are all Tinubu’s children.

“You voted because you want your local government back, you wanted economical relief. The relief has come and I am the one”, Adebutu said

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the party, Sunday Solarin urged the party faithful to remain calm, saying the party will get favourable judgement at the Supreme Court.

Solarin attributed the losses of the party at the lower courts to technicalities, assuring that the supreme Court judgement would be evidence based.

“The election has come, it has not gone . We still have the matter pending at the Supreme Court. As you can see our people are quite hopeful because they knew they work hard and they are able to understand the level of acceptability that the party has received from the electorates.

“The party actually won the election and that is why we are still in court and we believe quite well that supreme Court will set the record straight because it is court of Policies”, he said
