PDP Crisis: Bala Mohammed Is Incompetent, Wike Miles Capable Than Him, Segun Showunmi Blasts Bauchi Gov
ABEOKUTA – The Convener, The Alternative Movement and a stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Segun Showunmi has berated the Bauchi State Governor for mishandling crisis within the party.
Showunmi said rather than fostering oneness and unity, the Bauchi State Governor used the PDP Governor’s Forum to intimidate party members.
Showunmi in a statement on his official Facebook handle, said Governor Bala Mohammed has failed at the state level to demonstrate solid leadership, let alone as Chairman, PDP Governor’s Forum.
According to him, “if the PDP Governors’ Forum thought its long, angry sermon would intimidate anyone, it only succeeded in exposing the obvious: Bala Mohammed cannot defend himself with performance, so he resorts to press releases padded with adjectives.”
He continued, “A Governor’s Forum Turned Attack Dog. Imagine a man so insecure in his own leadership that he needs an entire Governors’ Forum to bark on his behalf. Real leaders use results to answer critics. Bala Mohammed uses committees and communiqués.
“When Leadership Is Weak, Insults Become Policy. The forum spent paragraphs throwing insults but could not point to a single accomplishment to justify the over-the-top outrage. That alone tells the story. Where capacity is missing, noise becomes strategy.
“Bala Mohammed’s Track Record Speaks Louder Than Any TV Interview. And unfortunately for him, the track record is thin. Very thin. Nigerians are tired of leaders who respond to every criticism with emotional press statements instead of governance.
“Calling others irrelevant doesn’t create relevance. The forum can call Segun Sowunmi whatever it wants names do not change the fact that Bala Mohammed has struggled to demonstrate solid leadership at the state level, let alone as chairman of a Governors’ Forum.
“The real butterfly is the one fluttering from crisis to crisis. The poetic lines about butterflies and eagles are cute, but the truth is clear: the person flapping around defensively at every criticism is Bala Mohammed himself. Strong leaders don’t flinch; they fix.
“Before the forum asks anyone to “look in the mirror,” it should hand that mirror to its chairman. The reflection will reveal exactly why this desperate statement was issued: Bala Mohammed’s capacity gap is widening, and even mild criticism shakes him.
“In the end, the statement did not defend Bala Mohammed. It only confirmed why criticism of his leadership keeps growing: if there was competence to show, it would speak for him. Wike is by miles more capable than you. The results are clear for all to see. You cannot manage a team of just 5 gentlemen. Shame on you. Relax Bala, you will give an account for the resources of Bauchi State. All the hoof and puff will not save you.
