Speaker Urges Lions Club To Embrace New Paradigms For Humanity’s Sake

LAGOS – A prominent member, Lagos Egbeda Lions Club, District 404 B3, Nigeria, Dr. Eddy Ademosu has urged the club to embark on a new journey, embracing innovative approaches to service and community development.
Dr. Eddy Ademosu gave the charge on Sunday the investiture of 25th President and Officers of Lagos Egbeda Lions Club, District 404 B3, Nigeria.
Ademosu, while delivering a keynote address, emphasized the need for adaptive and innovative approaches to service, highlighting the importance of collaboration, sustainability, and inclusivity.
Dr. Ademosu said the Lions Club has been a beacon of hope in Nigeria, providing eye care, fighting hunger, championing education, and standing up for the vulnerable.
He noted that the organization’s history is a tapestry woven with threads of compassion, courage, and community.
He maintained that traditional humanitarian service often focused on top-down approaches, relief-oriented efforts, paternalistic attitudes, sectoral silos, and short-term funding.
According to him, these approaches have been criticized for creating dependency, lacking accountability, and inefficient use of resources.
Dr. Ademosu outlined four new paradigms for service, such as service as empowerment, technology as a force multiplier, collaboration across borders, and sustainability for future generations.
He emphasized the need to unlock potential, harness technology, and prioritize sustainability and inclusivity.
Dr. Ademosu urged the newly invested president and officers to DIPS: Dream Big, Innovate Boldly, Partner Deeply, and Sustain Always.
He highlighted the importance of prioritizing sustainability and inclusivity, and encouraged the club to work together to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
