SWAN Postpones Ogun @50 Sports Media Award

ABEOKUTA – The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State Chapter, wishes to inform the general public, stakeholders, and invited guests of the postponement of the highly anticipated Ogun Sports Media Awards.
The event, which was originally scheduled to hold on April 10, 2026, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, will now take place on August 7, 2026, at the same venue.
This decision was taken to ensure better organization and to accommodate key stakeholders whose presence is vital to the success of the event.
The Ogun Sports Media Awards is designed to celebrate and honour distinguished sports personalities and institutions that have made significant contributions to the development of sports in Ogun State.
The event also marks a special milestone as it coincides with the 50th anniversary celebration of Ogun SWAN.
Among the notable awardees to be honoured are the Director-General, National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, Barr. Churchill Oliseh, Lafarge Africa, MTN/IHS Nigeria, Nigeria Breweries, and Senator Gbenga Daniel, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to sports development.
SWAN, Ogun State Chapter regrets any inconvenience this change of date may cause and appreciates the understanding and continued support of all stakeholders.
