2023: Tinubu Has Demonstrated Commitment To A Better Nigeria – Adegbenro
ABEOKUTA – An Abuja-based security expert, Chief Adejare Adegbenro has rallied support for the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu describing him as pan-Nigerian with a greater commitment for a better nation.
Otunba Adegbenro who spoke with journalists in Abuja on Wednesday said Tinubu remains the most better prepared candidate among those seeking the Aso rock office.
He said Tinubu’s track record of performance as a governor in Lagos has positioned him above other contestants.
“As you all know, my maternal grandfather Pa Alfred Rewane was a key financier of NADECO that fought the military to a standstill before he was cruelly murdered by unknown gunmen suspected to be agents of the state in October 1995. In this struggle was Bola Tinubu who worked closely with him for the restoration of democratic rule.
“Bola Tinubu was like a son to my grandfather, Rewane. Since he served as governor of Lagos till today, he is the only person that has been successfully fueling humanitarian activities and his master plan for Lagos works like magic. I wish him the best. And when he becomes president, he should enforce discipline so we can move forward as a nation. I would rather support someone I know his history, rise, virtues and struggle.
“Out of the three frontline candidates, only Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar are well exposed for the presidential position. However, Asiwaju has a track record of performance as a substantive governor of Lagos State (1999-2007).
“He held his own, laid foundation for the modern Lagos we are enjoying today. I have no doubt about his capabilities to replicate it at the national level. Lagos is still the safest despite its population of about 25 million people.
“Some are peddling falsehood that he’s sick, can a sick person, move around the way he does?
“Everyday he is working. In fact, his schedule is busier than some incumbent governors. Only God giveth and taketh”
The Egba High Chief equally declared support for the second-term ambition of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state.
He said the Ogun state governor has transformed the state with monumental projects that will outlive him.
“Dapo Abiodun has done well for my state. I’m a blunt person and I’m very economical with commendations, but whatever I say about the Governor Abiodun led administration is known to the good people of the state.
“There’s no vacancy in the governor’s office. He’s a performing governor. As close I am to him, it’s hard to see him and it’s better to see a working governor than the one who only talks and junkets round the world.
“The agro cargo airport that seemed unrealistic has now berthed in Ilishan Remo, and swiftly, big investments are coming into the state. That’s just one out of many. The Gateway state recorded a record 100 billion IGR last month occasioned by his drive. The state is not one of the states that heavily rely on federal allocation. On road construction, I doubt if any past governor in the state has constructed and rehabilitated more roads than him.
“In just about four years, Dapo has brought massive development to Ogun State. One good term only deserves another. The people of the state must commend him through their votes, so he can build on these successes in the second term” he concluded
