Naira Scarcity: NANS, NAOSS Beg Governor Abiodun To Pay 2023 Bursary

ABEOKUTA – Students in Ogun state have called on the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to pay their bursary allocation for year 2023.

The students who spoke under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) said this call was to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship in the country.

Speaking at a joint press conference on Thursday in Abeokuta, the NAOSS National President, Gbemileke Ogunrombi emphasized that majority of the students are facing difficulty in coping with the cash crunch.

According to him, the Ogun state students will continue to support the state government in all ramifications for peaceful coexistence of the state.

Similarly, the Chairman, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State, Simeon Kehinde called on students in the state to remain calm and shun any form of protest that may truncate the peaceful atmosphere in the country.

Simeon advised parents and guardians to warn their children from engaging in any act inimical to peace and tranquillity of the nation, urging Nigerian students not to allow themselves to be tools in the hands of any politicians.

“We are advising students to remain calm and resolute towards a peaceful nation as we approach elections.

“We are calling on parents to warn their children to secure this nation. Don’t go out there and become a tool in the hands of politicians. Go out with your PVC and make the right choice.”
