Tinubu Subsidises Dialysis Treatment In Public Hospitals

ABUJA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered a sharp reduction in the cost of kidney dialysis in public hospitals, lowering the price of each session from ₦50,000 to ₦12,000.

The announcement was made on Monday by presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala, who said the new policy will ease the burden on thousands of Nigerians struggling with kidney-related illnesses.

According to Bwala, the subsidy programme will begin with ten selected federal hospitals, before being extended to more medical centres and teaching hospitals across the country before the end of the year.

“The president’s decision is aimed at saving lives and making dialysis more affordable for ordinary Nigerians.

This is part of his ongoing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare,” Bwala said in his statement.
