ABEOKUTA – The convener of Odun Aje Onirẹ Egba, Princess Kehinde Adelanwa-Sobayo, has disclosed that the 2025 celebrations was to showcase the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Egba people. people.
The event will take place on Monday, 24th February 2025, at Oba Odeleye Park (Oriomi), Sokori, Abeokuta, by 10:00am.
According to Princess Adelanwa-Sobayo, the Iyalaje Onirẹ of Egbaland and Erelu Àjẹ of Owu Kingdom, this year’s celebration promises to be an unforgettable experience.
She said the event features a diverse range of activities, including cultural performances, showcasing music, dance, and drama, empowerment programs, offering business grants, skills training, and mentorship opportunities for youths and women, traditional rites and ceremonies, activities promoting unity, peace, and progress.
The event will also feature live indigenous music by the renowned Abideen Olatunji Yusuf, son of the legendary Baba-Lẹgba.
Expected guests at the festival include His Royal Majesty, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, leading other Egba royal kings and chiefs, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, leading other dignitaries, the Honorable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, representing the Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
