2027: Northern Women Begin House-To-House Campaign For Accord Presidential Candidate

KANO – Women across Northern Nigeria are stepping up grassroots mobilisation for Accord Party presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, with supporters beginning house to house campaigns in Kano to promote his presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general election.

The mobilisation reflects growing efforts by women supporters to take Hashimโ€™s message directly to households and communities, encouraging greater participation in the political process and building support for his candidacy at the grassroots.

Hajiya Zulaihat Sarauniya, Director of Media and Publicity for the womenโ€™s mobilisation initiative, said Hashim possesses an unmatched capacity to bring positive change to Nigerians, particularly women.

According to her, women have a significant stake in the countryโ€™s future and deserve leadership that understands their challenges, recognises their contributions and creates opportunities for them to participate meaningfully in national development.

She described Hashim as a candidate whose leadership capacity and vision offer considerable promise for Nigerian women, adding that the mobilisation would take his message beyond political meetings and campaign gatherings into homes and neighbourhoods.

The house to house approach is intended to establish direct contact with women and families, explain the reasons behind their support for Hashim and encourage wider grassroots participation in the 2027 electoral process.

The initiative also places women at the centre of the campaignโ€™s mobilisation strategy, recognising their influence within households, communities, markets, professional networks and local associations.

Rather than limiting their participation to attendance at rallies, the women are seeking to become active campaign organisers, engaging voters individually and building support through personal conversations and community relationships.

The development adds to the wider grassroots mobilisation around Hashimโ€™s presidential ambition, as Accord supporters work to expand the partyโ€™s presence and build a national support network ahead of the elections.

For the women involved, the campaign is not simply about supporting a presidential candidate; it is also an opportunity to make women’s concerns more prominent in the national political conversation and advocate for a future in which they have greater access to economic opportunities, social protection and meaningful participation in governance.
