Beyond Limits Outclass Stormers SC In A Thrilling Ogun FA Cup Final

ABEOKUTA – Beyond Limits FA staged a stunning second-half comeback to overturn a first-half deficit and defeat Stormers SC 2-1 in a pulsating 2026 Ogun State FA Cup final, showcasing resilience and championship mentality at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena on Saturday.

Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, commended both teams for their outstanding performances in what proved to be a gripping encounter.

Stormers SC had the upper hand early on, taking the lead in the first half and putting Beyond Limits under pressure.

However, the momentum shifted after the break as Beyond Limits returned with renewed intensity, composure, and tactical discipline. Their persistence paid off with two well-taken goals in the second half, completing a remarkable turnaround to seal victory and lift the title.

The win marks Beyond Limits FA’s second Ogun FA Cup triumph in three years, following their 2024 success.

With the result, both Beyond Limits FA and Stormers SC have secured qualification to represent Ogun State at the national stage of the President Federation Cup.

Reacting after the match, Alhaji Majekodunmi praised the two sides for their discipline, resilience, and quality of play.

“It was a thrilling final and a great advert for football in Ogun State. Both teams showed discipline, determination, and quality, and they truly deserved to be in the final. They gave the fans a memorable spectacle,” he said.

He also expressed satisfaction that the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, was present to witness the high standard of football on display.

“I am particularly delighted that the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, was on ground to watch both teams. It speaks volumes about the growing standard of our football.”

The Ogun FA Chairman further urged the teams to remain focused as they prepare for the national competition.

“I want to charge both teams to be worthy ambassadors of Ogun State at the national level. The competition will be more intense and competitive, so they must stay disciplined and committed.”

Following the final whistle, the NSC Director General, alongside Alhaji Majekodunmi and the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Development, Hon. Tunde Delu, presented medals to players and officials, with the trophy handed to champions Beyond Limits FA.

The 2026 Ogun State FA Cup final attracted a large and diverse crowd, all treated to an enthralling contest defined by drama, quality, and a memorable comeback.
