Ogun 2027: Prosperity Movement Mobilises 2,000 Supporters for Imeko-Afon Mega Rally

ABEOKUTA – The Ogun Prosperity Movement, a grassroots political platform mobilising support for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, is set to hold a mega rally in Imeko-Afon Local Government Area as part of its mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally, scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Community High School, Iwoye-Ketu, Imeko-Afon, will commence at 10:00 a.m.

The organisers said the event is expected to attract about 2,000 APC supporters, party faithful and community leaders from the 10 wards of the local government in what is expected to be a major display of grassroots support and political mobilisation.

The Imeko-Afon Mega Rally will also feature the presentation and addresses by key APC candidates for the 2027 elections, including the governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates representing Ogun West.

According to the organisers, the candidates will use the occasion to present their vision for inclusive development, grassroots empowerment, economic growth and improved welfare of residents across Ogun West and Ogun State.

The Convener of the Ogun Prosperity Movement, Hon. Albert Asipa, described Imeko-Afon as an area with enormous potential, stressing that the rally would go beyond political mobilisation.

Asipa said the gathering would serve as a platform to demonstrate the readiness of the people to support purposeful leadership and development while advancing the interests of communities across the local government.

“Imeko-Afon Local Government has enormous potential. This Mega Rally is not just a gathering, it is a declaration that the people are ready for purposeful leadership, development, and prosperity,” he said.

He added: “We are mobilising across all 10 wards to send a clear message that Ogun Prosperity Movement is committed to delivering real dividends of democracy to every community.”

The movement, which is supporting the political aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, said it was committed to promoting good governance, economic growth, grassroots development and unity through people-oriented policies and sustained community engagement.

The organisers urged party stakeholders, members of the public and the media to attend the rally, assuring that adequate security and logistical arrangements had been made to ensure a peaceful and orderly event.
