Senator Yayi Charges APC Campaign Council To Focus On Victory, Ignore Frivolous Issues
ABEOKUTA — The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has charged members of the party’s Campaign Council to work as a united team and focus their campaign on issues that will improve the lives of residents.
Adeola gave the charge on Thursday at the inauguration of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, ahead of the 2027 governorship and other elections.
The senator, who described the inauguration as a landmark event, expressed delight at the presence of the party’s leaders, chieftains and members, saying the gathering demonstrated the strength of the APC in the state.
He said the conclusion of the party’s primaries and the commencement of campaign activities had provided an opportunity for the APC to begin communicating its programmes and achievements to the people under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Adeola also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Olusegun Osoba and other leaders of the party for their roles in the reconciliation process that preceded the APC primaries.
He specifically acknowledged their contributions to his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the party.
Adeola assured the people of Ogun State that he would not take the confidence reposed in him for granted, promising continuity in good governance and the delivery of programmes that would benefit residents.
The APC candidate urged his supporters and party members to maintain decorum throughout the campaign, insisting that the party would respond to political attacks by highlighting its achievements and development initiatives.
He further appealed to APC supporters across the state to vote for candidates of the party in all elective positions, from the presidency to the National Assembly and State House of Assembly.
“As we begin our campaign, I promise that our people will have information on issues and projects that will better their lives and not frivolous issues that tend damage the good image of our dear state.
“When they go low and under, we will continue to soar higher with our delivered benefits for our people.
“I appeal to all my supporters across the state that we are voting for only APC candidates from the Presidential down to the House of Assembly elections. Any deviation is not in the interest of our party and indeed, our people,” he said.
Adeola called on members of the various committees of the Campaign Council to work together, stressing that unity and coordinated efforts would be crucial to the party’s performance in the forthcoming elections.
He urged the council to commence its assignment with a shared commitment to securing victory for the APC across the state.
Inaugurating the Campaign Council, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, charged members to work collectively and strategically towards securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections, while urging them to take the party’s message of good governance and development to every part of the state.
