Wheelchair Basketball Federation President, Seyi Johnson Donates Electronic Appliances To Ogun SWAN Secretariat

ABEOKUTA – The President of the Wheelchair Basketball Federation, Mr. Seyi Johnson, has pledged to donate electronic appliances to the Ogun State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) as part of his commitment to supporting sports development, journalism, and the welfare of sports writers in the state.

Mr. Johnson made the pledge in Abeokuta at the weekend, stressing that, the support was in recognition of the important role played by sports journalists in promoting athletes, sporting events, sports development initiatives, and the achievements of persons with disabilities across Nigeria.

According to the Wheelchair Basketball Federation President, the donation is aimed at supporting the operational needs of Ogun State SWAN and creating a more conducive environment for sports writers to carry out their professional responsibilities.

He highlighted the importance of stronger collaboration between sports administrators, athletes, journalists, and other stakeholders in advancing sports development and promoting inclusion within the Nigerian sporting community.

The Wheelchair Basketball Federation President expressed the hope that the gesture would strengthen the relationship between the Federation and sports journalists while encouraging greater attention to wheelchair Basketball and other sporting activities involving persons with disabilities.

Mr. Johnson reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that would continue to contribute to the growth of sports, the welfare of sports stakeholders, and greater visibility for athletes and sporting communities across Nigeria.

In his remarks, the SWAN Chairman, Comrade Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji appreciated the Wheelchair Basketball Federation President for his passion and resilience to the development of sports as well as Sports Journalists in Ogun State.

Ogunsiji said the gesture would improve the morale of Sports Journalists in Ogun state, assuring him of the readiness of members of the association in the state to partner with the Wheelchair Basketball President in the promotion of the sports across the nooks and crannies of the country.
