Abiodun To Senator Yayi: You’re A Good Ambassador Of Ogun State
ABEOKUTA – Former governor of Ogun State and elderstateman, Chief Olusegun Osoba and incumbent governor the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun have both commended Senator Solomon Adeola aka Yayi, the newly inaugurated senator representing Ogun West senatorial district for being a good ambassador of Ogun State at the national level.
Speaking at the inaugural thanksgiving reception of the 10th Senate organized by Senator Adeola, Chief Osoba said he was aware of the assignment given by President Bola Tinubu to Yayi and others in relation to the leadership of the 10th National Assembly adding that Senator Adeola was at the forefront of the struggle to implement the assignment with the success recorded in the election of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the 9thPresident of the 10th Senate.
“I know that our President gave him and other loyal party senators an assignment to ensure the zoning of the APC was adhere to. He spent sleepless nights for weeks to ensure success of electing Akpabio as President of the Senate in line with presidential directives. Yayi is a good ambassador of Ogun State for playing a major role at the national level towards the actualization of the Renewed Hope Agenda” Chief Osoba stated.
Speaking in similar vein, Prince Abiodun recalled the attempts of Senator Adeola to return to Ogun State from Lagos State as far back as 2012 that was desperately resisted by some forces stressing that his coming to Ogun State at this point is in accordance to God’s will at a time of Renewed Hope Agenda of APC and President Tinubu.
“Today is indeed historic. We are celebrating Senator Adeola inauguration as an Ogun State Senator. We are celebrating our president and his successes so far in pursuit of Renewed Hope Agenda and the return of one of our prominent sons to Ogun State to offer his talent for the state. He is a good ambassador of the state and we are calling on other sons and daughters of Ogun State with values to come back home to contribute their value and good virtues” the governor stated.
Prince Abiodun, while congratulating Senator Akpabio and Hon Tajudeen Abbass on their election, said the transparent election of the leadership of 10th National Assembly is truly democracy in action and a triumph for President Asiwaju political ingenuity.
Senator Adeola in his remarks stated that only on Saturday, he gave his valedictory speech as a Lagos West Senator and is today inaugurated as an Ogun West Senator adding that he will continue give effective representation to his constituents and work for the promotion of National interest at all times.
“I am a happy man today having realized an ambition that dates back to 2012 when I made a move to return to Ogun State from Lagos. As an Ogun State senator, I am going to hit the ground running and this weekend I am starting with the empowerment of 2000 constituents as part of my thanksgiving for the senatorial district. After that there will be a mega empowerment in the next few months” he stated.
Among dignitaries at the well-attended reception in Abuja were two former deputy Governors of Ogun State, Alhaja Salmont Badru, Prince Segun Adesegun, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Senator Gbolahan Dada, Senator Yakubu Oseni, Senator Uche Ekwunife and a host of other royal fathers and legislators from the House of Representatives.
