Abiodun’s Aide, Ogunmefun Enjoins Odogbolu Residents To Play “Common Sense” Politics To Attract Development

ABEOKUTA – The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor for Commerce, Industry, Trade and Investment, Chief Remi Ogunmefun has advised his kinsmen to play what he called “common-sense” politics to attract development to the community.

Ogunmefun who is the President, Odogbolu Community Development Council (OCDC), equally called for cohesion among sons and daughters of Odogbolu Town.

Ogunmefun while addressing the mammoth crowd at the 46th Odogbolu Heritage Festival held on Saturday said the community would spare no effort to facilitate social and infrastructural amenities to the town.

“Growth is something we all desire and Odogbolu as a community will grow in leaps and bounds by the grace of God. To this end, we are resolved to spare no efforts to achieve our goals.

“As we move forward, we are going to focus on the provision of the following Infrastructures for our town. Provision of solar-powered street lights on the major roads, provision of a well equipped youth centre, structured to refocus our youths positively for the future.

“Attracting and encouraging entrepreneurship, particularly the establishment of industries and other enterprises into Odogbolu Town. To deliver two additional commercial banks to the town and to solicit and encourage government to locate major MDAs in Odogbolu Town, particularly in areas where we have competing and comparable advantages among others.”

Chief Remi Ogunmefun acknowledged the unrelenting hard work and contributions of the sons and daughters of the town, especially the former Chairman of the board of trustees of Odogbolu Community Development council, Omoba Sam Ogundogba.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the ceremony, Adewale Sonaike donated the sum of N1million for an infrastructural development project, while the Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Atinuke Bello and her family donated the sum of Five Hundred Thousand (N500, 000) naira.

Other personalities that graced the occasion are the Special Adviser to the governor on Public Private Partnership, Mr. Dapo Oduwole, Hon. Sola Arobieke, Hon. Yetunde Adesanya, the sixth president OCDC, Chief Sunday Adegbuyi, Pastor Omololu Oduniyi among others.

The “Regbe-regbe”, clubs and societies were well represented at the ceremony, while the Alaye of Odogbolu, Oba Adedeji Olusegun Onagoruwa sent his royal blessings.
