ACOMORAN Chairman Lauds Gov. Abiodun For Electric Bike Distribution To Members
ABEOKUTA – Ogun chapter of Amalgamation of Commercial Motorcycle Owners, Riders, and Repairers Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) has commended the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the electric bike initiative.
ACOMORAN State Chairman, Mr. Kayode Sowunmi while lauding the initiative described it as the right decision in the right direction.
He spoke during the distribution of the electronic motorcycles recently launched by the governor to mitigating the impact of the subsidy removal and the high cost of diesel fuel while reducing transportation costs citizens.
Speaking at the event, Sowunmi said the electric bike programme will cut transportation costs for both passengers and operators, as well as saving the environment from pollution.
His words “Now that the price of fuel has increased, the charges by motorcycle operators have increased. That is why we must commend the Governor.
“This elecric bike will not only reduce the cost of transportaion but its also affordable for everyone as the price is quite cheaper from other bikes.
“Another thing about these electric bikes do not have engine. They only make use of rechargable batteries and the state government has created various locations across the state”, Sowunmi said.
The Commissioner for Transportation who was represented by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, Mr Adesoji Adewuyi lauded ACOMORAN and the governor for the distribution.
Dairo said “these electric bikes are more or less affordable, swapping the battery is just for 1250 naira. They can only swap twice in a day .
“We are thanking Governor Abiodun for this initiative that he actually brought to Ogun State, and I know that many more will be coming from his side.”
Olatunji Olajuwon, one of the beneficiaries said “I am so excited. I saw the advertisement that the government is giving this to interested people and I applied. It’s a good programme by the governor to the people.
