BREAKING: APC Ibogun Suspends Chief Joju Fadairo, Ward Chairman, Youth Leader Over Anti-Party Activities, Financial Misappropriation

ABEOKUTA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibogun Ward, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, has announced the indefinite suspension of party chieftain Chief Joju Fadairo over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision was reached during the APC Ibogun Ward General Meeting held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the party secretariat in Akiode, Ibogun Ward, where members deliberated on issues affecting the party at the grassroots level.

Chief Fadairo had last week threw his weight behind the PDP governorship candidate, Hon. Ladi Adebutu.

Chief Fadairo had during a courtesy visit to his residence by Hon. Adebutu declared that Ogun state was not for sale to non-indigene, a statement suggesting he was attacking the APC governorship candidate, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi.

Recalled that Senator Yayi who had been accused to be non-indigene of Ogun State by the opposition party.

However, the APC Ibogun Ward took the disciplinary action against Chief Joju Fadairo, citing his alleged public endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Hon. Ladi Adebutu.

Members described the endorsement as an act of disloyalty capable of undermining the unity and electoral interests of the APC in the ward.

They further stated that the action violated provisions of the APC Constitution which prohibit support for opposition candidates and conduct capable of bringing the party into disrepute.

As a result, the General Meeting resolved to place Chief Fadairo on indefinite suspension with immediate effect and directed that an ad-hoc disciplinary committee be constituted to investigate the matter and provide him with a fair hearing.

The resolutions were reportedly endorsed by 21 out of 27 ward executive members and 106 party members in Ibogun Ward.

Similarly, the party members unanimously approved and ratified an earlier decision by the Ward Executive Committee to suspend the ward Chairman, Alhaji Akeem Oluwanisola and ward youth leader, Mr. Abraham Samuel Ochem indefinitely.

The two officials were accused of alleged mismanagement and lack of accountability in the handling of funds released for recent affirmation and primary elections, failure to convene statutory ward meetings as required by the APC Constitution, threats to dissolve duly constituted ward structures, and engaging in activities considered inimical to the interests of the party.

In a separate letter addressed to the Chairman of APC in Ifo Local Government Area, 21 members of the 27 Ibogun Ward Executive Committee formally notified the local government leadership of the suspension of Alhaji Oluwanisola and Mr. Ochem.

The executive committee alleged that the suspended chairman failed to account for party funds, took unilateral decisions without consulting party organs, and threatened to dissolve the ward’s Unit and Zonal Executive structures after questions were raised about financial accountability.

Mr. Ochem was also accused of openly working for and campaigning on behalf of an opposition candidate alongside Chief Joju Fadairo, an allegation the committee described as a clear case of anti-party activity.

The ward leadership said the suspensions were necessary to protect party discipline, accountability, unity and constitutional order, while investigations into the allegations continue.
