Northern Group Roots For Hon. Miriam Onuoha As Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives

ABUJA – A Northern Socio-Cultural Organization known as the Northern Interfaith/Inter-Tribal Alliance for Peace, Unity and Development has endorsed Mrs. Miriam Onuoha from Imo State, as the next Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The group’s National President, Alhaji Ma’aruf Abubakar Danja disclosed this on Sunday during a courtesy visit to the National Patron, His Excellency, Dr. Lawrence Anebi Onoja, a former Military Administrator of Katsina and Plateau State in his Maitama castle house, Abuja.
The group’s National President described Honourable Miriam Onuoha as a bridge between the South and Northern Nigeria in view of her relationship with Nigerians across the 36 States of the federation.
He noted that, if voted into the Deputy Speakership position of the Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Miriam Onuoha would deploy her wealth of experience as an old timer in the in Green chamber to ensure good legislative business that will turn around the fortune of every sphere of Nigeria’s economy irrespective of background, political affiliation, religion inclination, tribes, ethnicity among others.
The group promised to use their contact in the Nineteen Northern States and beyond to rally support for Rt. Hon. Miriam Onuoha since Honorable Abbas Tajudeen has been adopted as a consensus candidate, which automatically gives room for the southern part of Nigeria where Honorable Miriam Onuoha hails from to produce Deputy Speaker which she is eminently qualified for.
They argued that, Hon. Miriam’s emergence would represent gender equality, as best practice in a growing democratic dispensation.
Responding, General Lawrence Onoja Rtd. described Honourable Miriam Onuoha as a bundle of knowledge with versatile experience in human and Community development, stressing that when giving opportunity to serve as Deputy Speaker of the of the House of Representatives, will without any iota of doubt ensure unimaginable development in Nigeria especially in the legislative business.
He urged all the elected members of the federal House of Representatives across the nation to put aside ethnicity and religion and political differences and give all their support to Miriam Onuoha to become Deputy Speaker of the green hallow chamber of Nigeria National Assembly.
