Demola Andu Applauds Yayi’s ₦1bn Power Initiative, Predicts Economic Revival For Ogun Waterside

ABEOKUTA – An overseas-based indigene of Ibiade in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State, Mr. Demola Andu, popularly known as “The Bridge,” has lauded the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), for announcing a ₦1 billion electrification intervention for Ogun Waterside.

Andu described the initiative as a landmark development capable of addressing the long-standing electricity challenges facing communities in the riverine local government area while unlocking new opportunities for socio-economic growth and development.

According to him, the intervention is a clear demonstration of Senator Adeola’s commitment to improving the welfare of the people and delivering impactful projects that directly address the needs of communities across Ogun State.

He expressed confidence that the project, which is expected to commence within the next 24 hours, would significantly enhance economic activities in the area by providing a more reliable power supply for businesses, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and other critical sectors.

The diaspora-based philanthropist noted that residents of Ogun Waterside have every reason to celebrate the development, describing it as a major step toward improving living standards and expanding economic opportunities across the local government.

“Access to stable electricity remains one of the most critical requirements for sustainable development. This intervention has the potential to transform lives, stimulate local businesses, create jobs, and accelerate growth across Ogun Waterside,” he said.

Andu further stated that Senator Adeola has consistently demonstrated concern for the welfare of the people through people-oriented initiatives, expressing optimism that Ogun State would witness a new era of purposeful and inclusive governance if the APC candidate emerges victorious in the 2027 governorship election.

He therefore called on residents of Ogun Waterside and Ogun State electorate to support Senator Adeola, his running mate, and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

He also urged communities expected to benefit from the electrification project to cooperate fully with contractors and relevant authorities to ensure the seamless execution and timely completion of the intervention.

According to him, the ₦1 billion electrification initiative represents another strategic investment in the development of Ogun Waterside and will contribute significantly to the overall economic transformation and prosperity of Ogun State.
