DSS Detains Interim DG of NATCOM Agaba Fidel For Alleged Job Racketeering, Extortion
ABUJA – The Department of State Security Service (DSS) has detained Dr. Agaba Iduh Fidel, the interim Director General of NATCOM for alleged fake employment letters, job racketeering and extortion from job seekers.
THE ENCOUNTER NEWS reports that Dr. Fidel was arrested by the DSS for declaring himself Acting Director General of NATCOM without proper authorization.
Dr. Agaba Fidel, who previously served as a Director of NATCOM in Benue State, is accused of unlawfully assuming the position of interim Director General.
Allegedly, he manipulated the process by enticing some suspended state commandants to support his appointment as Acting Director General.
Official sources confirm that Otunba Adejare Adegbenro remains the duly appointed Acting Director General of NATCOM, as chosen by a coalition of 27 State Directors and Zonal Directors.
Dr. Agaba Fidel faces serious allegations, including the sale of fake appointment letters, job racketeering, extortion of innocent job seekers, and defamation of character.
Despite these disruptions, officers are advised to remain hopeful.
Otunba Adejare Adegbenro, the legitimate Acting Director General of NATCOM, is committed to collaborating with stakeholders, lawmakers, and the presidency to ensure the continued progress and integrity of the Commission.
