Ex-Rep Member, Oladele Affirms Senator Yayi As Next Ogun Governor

ABEOKUTA – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State (APC) and former Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Kayode Oladele has expressed confidence that the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, will emerge as the next Governor of Ogun State.

Speaking with journalists on Friday after the thanksgiving service held in honour of the late mother of Yeye Olufunke Daniel, wife of former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Oladele described Yayi as the most popular, most experienced and most widely accepted governorship candidate in the state.

He said the senator had continued to build momentum by attracting widespread support from party leaders, traditional rulers, professionals, women, youths and other stakeholders across Ogun West, Ogun Central and Ogun East Senatorial Districts.

According to him, Adeola’s growing acceptance across the state is a reflection of his track record in public service, his legislative experience and his commitment to inclusive governance and balanced development.

“There is no doubt in my mind that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Yayi, is the next Governor of Ogun State. He is the most popular, the most experienced and the most widely accepted candidate in the race today. His support base cuts across the three senatorial districts, and the momentum behind his aspiration continues to grow because the people believe in his capacity, competence and vision for a greater Ogun State,” Oladele said.

He dismissed suggestions that the 2027 governorship election would be a straight contest between the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, insisting that the PDP had lost its structure and political relevance in the state.

“The PDP is simply not in the race. It would be superfluous to compare the strength of the PDP with that of the APC. While the APC continues to grow stronger by the day, attracting prominent politicians and grassroots supporters from the PDP on a daily basis, the PDP is steadily losing its relevance and political footing across Ogun State,” he said.

Oladele maintained that the widespread support for Senator Yayi was driven by the people themselves, adding that the APC candidate had continued to unite leaders and stakeholders across political, religious and ethnic divides.

“The good people of Ogun State have embraced Senator Adeola Yayi because they recognize competence, experience and genuine commitment to public service. Everywhere he goes, the reception is overwhelming because the people have confidence in his leadership and what he represents.

“I have no doubt that the good people of Ogun State will vote massively for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi. The momentum is unmistakable, the acceptance is unprecedented and the support continues to spread across every part of the state.

“As the saying goes, Vox Populi, Vox Dei – the voice of the people is the voice of God. I am convinced that the people will freely express their democratic choice at the polls and that choice will be Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi as the next Governor of Ogun State.”

Oladele also urged the people of Ogun State to vote massively for the re election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as a true democrat and a transformative leader whose administration had laid a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth, institutional reforms and national development.

He said the South West owed the President a duty to reciprocate his commitment to the region and Nigeria by delivering overwhelming support for his second term bid.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon courage and visionary leadership in tackling the nation’s economic and structural challenges. His bold reforms are already laying the foundation for a more prosperous Nigeria. I therefore call on the good people of Ogun State to vote massively for his re election as a mark of confidence in his leadership and commitment to the country’s progress,” Oladele said

Oladele urged APC members and supporters to remain united and continue expanding the party’s grassroots support across the state, expressing confidence that the party would record victory at the governorship election.
