Fagbenro Opens 30-Room Luxury Treal Hotel & Suites, Deepens Investment in Ogun Hospitality Sector

ABEOKUTA – The hospitality and tourism sector in Ogun State received a fresh boost on Thursday with the commissioning of Treal Hotel and Suites in Abeokuta.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman and promoter of the hotel, Mr. Adebayo Fagbenro, a chartered accountant and chartered banker with extensive experience across the financial and broader business sectors, said the multi-million naira facility was conceived to bridge gaps in quality hospitality services and meet rising demand for premium accommodation in Abeokuta and its environs.
He further explained that the hotel, strategically located at the well-developed Ibara Housing Estate, was designed to raise hospitality standards and deliver world-class services to guests.

In the same vein, the Vice Chairman of the hotel board, Mrs. Adejoke Fagbenro, said the vision behind the project was to provide international-standard hospitality services while ensuring excellence, discipline, and customer satisfaction in operations.
Speaking at the forum, the Senior Pastor and Founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, while addressing concerns around the “Japa” syndrome among young Nigerians, commended the promoter of the hotel, describing the investment as a positive example of patriotic engagement and national development.
He said, “In a time when many young people are focused on leaving the country in search of opportunities abroad, what we are seeing here is commendable. This is a clear example of turning that mindset around—bringing value, investment, and development back home. That is true patriotism, and it should be encouraged among young Nigerians.”
On the government side, the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, commended the initiative, describing it as a clear demonstration of growing investor confidence in the state.
He further noted that the project aligns with ongoing efforts to improve the ease of doing business, expand tourism infrastructure, and attract more private capital into the economy.
Similarly, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, described the promoter as a good ambassador of Egbaland and commended the investment as a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of the state.
He noted that the steady inflow of private investments reflects growing confidence in Abeokuta as a safe and attractive destination for business, tourism, and hospitality development.
In an interview on the sidelines of the event, the Chairman of the APC Local Government Chairmen Forum in Nigeria, Hon. Henry Fagbenro, who is the elder brother of the promoter, expressed pride in the achievement, noting that it reflects discipline, resilience, and strong family values.
He said the success of his brother stands as evidence of what Nigerians can achieve with global exposure, determination, and commitment to excellence.
On his part, the General Manager of the facility, Mr. Nuhu Onoja, said the hotel is driven by a strong team spirit and a culture of professionalism, noting that staff members are well-trained professionals drawn from reputable establishments within the hospitality industry.
He added that the team works collectively to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
The 30-room luxury Treal Hotel and Suites is fitted with modern hospitality facilities designed to deliver a premium guest experience, including jacuzzi suites, in-room sports and entertainment systems, high-end dining services, and other comfort-driven amenities targeted at upscale clientele.
The commissioning ceremony featured cultural displays and entertainment performances, while guests were later conducted round the facility for inspection of its various sections and service areas.
In all, stakeholders who took turns to speak at the event expressed renewed confidence that the project would further boost tourism growth, hospitality development, and economic activities in Ogun State.
