I’ll Deploy My Expertise In AI Technology To Combat Insecurity, Revitalize Ogun Economy – ADC Governorship Candidate, Ogundipe
ABEOKUTA – The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State, Dr. Biodun Collins Ogundipe, has pledged to deploy his expertise in artificial intelligence, intelligence systems and technology-driven governance to combat insecurity and revitalize the state’s economy if elected governor in 2027.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abeokuta on Monday, Ogundipe said Ogun State requires a new generation of leadership that prioritizes competence, innovation and strategic planning over traditional political rhetoric.
The ADC flagbearer, who described himself as a technocrat with extensive experience in intelligence and emerging technologies, expressed confidence that insecurity in Ogun State could be significantly reduced within one year through the application of modern intelligence-gathering tools and predictive technologies.
Ogundipe argued that contemporary security management goes beyond the deployment of armed personnel and weapons, insisting that effective policing in the 21st century is driven by intelligence gathering, prediction, prevention and rapid intervention.
Drawing from his professional background in artificial intelligence and intelligence systems, he disclosed that he had worked on technology-driven security solutions deployed at multinational levels and had participated in developing systems capable of identifying and preventing criminal activities before they occurred.
“I am not here to make promises that I cannot fulfill. But I can confidently state that, given the necessary authority and institutional framework, I can fundamentally transform the security architecture of Ogun State within 12 months. Ogun residents will sleep with their two eyes closed.”
“Security is fundamentally about intelligence gathering and prevention. The world has moved beyond simply reacting to crimes after they have been committed. Today, technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics and predictive intelligence have become essential tools for safeguarding lives and property.”
According to him, advanced technological solutions, including telecommunications data analysis, geospatial intelligence, behavioural analytics and artificial intelligence models, can be adapted to combat kidnapping, banditry and other forms of criminality in Nigeria.
He revealed that he had previously prepared and submitted proposals on technology-driven security frameworks designed to strengthen intelligence gathering and public safety, stressing that many of the solutions needed to address insecurity already exist.
Ogundipe said his administration would prioritize economic revitalization through what he described as the “Ogun One Economic Blueprint,” a comprehensive economic development framework developed over the last 19 months by policy analysts and researchers.
He explained that the blueprint was designed to leverage Ogun State’s strategic advantages, including its proximity to Lagos and the Republic of Benin, while addressing youth unemployment, rural underdevelopment, poor infrastructure and declining economic opportunities.
The governorship hopeful maintained that Ogun State had regressed over the last seven years despite increased federal allocations and significant economic potential.
“We have spent the last 19 months studying Ogun State extensively. We have conducted research, field assessments and analyses because the economic realities of different parts of the state require different solutions. The challenges facing Ipokia are not the same as those facing Sagamu.
“In summary, Ogun State can work far better than it is working today. If I believed otherwise, I would not be contesting this election. There is no reason why our young people should remain unemployed, why farmers should struggle to move their goods, or why rural communities should continue to feel abandoned.”
Ogundipe also reaffirmed his position as the duly recognized governorship candidate of the ADC in Ogun State, dismissing claims of any parallel candidacy within the party.
“There is only one governorship candidate of the ADC in Ogun State, and that is Dr. Biodun Collins Ogundipe,” he declared, adding that the party’s national leadership had already submitted his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The ADC candidate further disclosed that his campaign intends to leverage technology-driven electoral monitoring mechanisms during the 2027 governorship election, emphasizing that his professional expertise in artificial intelligence and data science would play a critical role in protecting the integrity of votes cast.
He also expressed confidence that young voters would play a decisive role in determining the outcome of the election, noting that demographic data showed that the youth constituted the majority of registered voters in Ogun State.
“Politics has changed. The future belongs to competence, preparation, technology and strategic thinking. Ogun State deserves leadership that understands the challenges of the present and is prepared for the opportunities of the future.”
Ogundipe urged residents of the state to evaluate candidates based on competence, verifiable achievements and leadership capacity rather than political rhetoric, insisting that Ogun State’s future depends on making informed choices in the 2027 governorship election.
